Mini-Sabbatical/Technical Training

Mini-Sabbaticals for Technical Training

Mini-Sabbaticals are designed specifically for PUI Faculty who need to learn a special technique at a core facility outside Arkansas.

There are a number of venues are available to the faculty, including but not limited to:

  • Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory
  • NIH Bio-Trac Program
  • The Jackson Laboratory
  • MDI Biological Laboratory

We will encourage partner/affiliate faculty to apply for funding to support such training. Applications up to $7,000 can include airfare, accommodations/lodging, meals, registration, supplies, and facility fees. Student participation is allowed and encouraged.

Once approved, the applicant will make all the arrangements following their home institution travel policy.  Once the Mini-Sabbatical is complete, your institution will submit an invoice to the INBRE Office for reimbursement of the approved expenses.
