AR INBRE Competitive Shared Instrumentation Awards
STATEWIDE FUNDING OPPORTUNITY ANNOUNCEMENT (FOA)
This funding opportunity is to announce funding availability for shared instrumentation / equipment grants to the four-year PUIs in the Arkansas INBRE.
The maximum award for each proposal is $40,000. With funds that are currently available, we anticipate making up to 4 awards.
The primary purpose of these Instrumentation Awards is to strengthen research capabilities and secondarily science education at the Arkansas INBRE network institutions. Please note that only one proposal per institution will be awarded.

Voucher Program
AR INBRE’s voucher program allows faculty at the predominantly undergrad institutions (PUIs) to gain access to the Core Facilities at UAMS and UAF for both research and teaching. For more info and to apply for a voucher, visit our Biotechnology page.
In addition to the core facilities listed on the web site, we also have Bioinformatics Cores at UALR and UAMS. Vouchers are not needed to for assistance from the Bioinformatics Core. Visit our Bioinformatics page for services and request support.
Proteomics Vouchers
The IDeA National Resource for Quantitative Proteomics supports a nationwide competitive voucher program that provides fully subsidized access at no cost to the user. The goal of the voucher program is to provide pilot scale data to investigators that will create new hypotheses, drive publications, and support on-going research studies within the mission of NIGMS.
Award: $2,000 voucher for 10-plex TMT or 20 sample DIA. Vouchers are accepted three times a year. Next due date is Oct 15. More

The Arkansas INBRE Research Conference involves participation from colleges and universities in Arkansas and surrounding states in biological sciences, physics and chemistry and biochemistry. The Conference, hosted in Fayetteville, includes talks, presentations and workshops.

NIGMS Maximizing Opportunities for Scientific and Academic Independent Careers (MOSAIC) Program to Promote Faculty Diversity has two components: a postdoc career transition award (K99/R00) and a cohort-based mentoring and career development program that supports the scholars (UE5 research ed coop agreement). Series consists of five webinars, each followed by a small group discussion the following week. Each webinar takes place from 3 to 4:30 pm ET; Group from 3 to 4 pm ET.

NIGMS Bridges to the Doctorate Research Training Program (T32). The goal of the Program is to promote broad participation in the biomedical research workforce by strengthening research training environments and expanding the pool of well-trained master’s students who transition to and complete biomedical PhDs. This program requires strong partnerships between at least two postsecondary educational organizations: one that supports training at the master’s degree level (Master’s-Training Organization), and a separate organization that supports biomedical PhD training (PhD-Training Organization). NIGMS Modern Equipment for Shared-use Biomedical Research Facilities: Advancing Research-Related Operations (S15). This NOFO, due Sept 25, invites eligible institutions to seek funds to transform or improve the operations of existing shared research facilities through the purchase and installation of latest equipment that enable and enhance a broad range of research-supporting activities. Any equipment supported by this NOFO must be substantially used in a laboratory research core facility, animal facility, or similar shared-use research space to ensure broad benefits for the institutional research community. NIGMS will co-fund applications from higher education institutions that award undergrad (BS or BA) and/or grad degrees in biomedical sciences and have received no more than $6 million dollars per year (total costs) from NIH Research Project Grants (RPGs) in each of the preceding two fiscal years, calculated using NIH RePORTER, at the time of the application. NIH’s Adoption of Common Forms for Biographical Sketch and Current and Pending (Other) Support by May 25, 2025. NIH will implement the Common Forms without change to any collection fields. However, in accordance with NIH’s Peer Review Regulations at 42 Code of Federal Regulations Part 52h, NIH currently plans to continue collecting three required agency specific data elements (i.e., Personal Statement, Contributions to Science, and Honors) to assess qualifications. These data elements will be collected separately from the Common Forms on a new NIH Biographical Sketch Supplement. More
New Video Library for Researchers. The National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health announces a new resource for the complementary and integrative health research community — a video library where program and review staff provide guidance on the grants process, funding opportunities, peer review, and more.
The goal of the new video library is to help investigators better understand some of the complexities of the NIH grant application process, especially as it applies to research on complementary and integrative health. NCCIH knows the application process can be challenging and hopes you find these videos helpful. More
